Elegance
A fine expression of this great Languedoc grape variety on volcanic hillside terroir.
Wine style
Our tiny parcel of old Carignan planted on the slopes of the ancient Baumes volcano convinced us to vinify it separately and make a pure Carignan.
We are passionate about this forgotten and sometimes under-appreciated grape variety. This wine fascinates with its tension and balance, its notes of black olive and garrigue, and its long finish. A rare wine to be discovered over many years.
The little extras of winemaking
While the Carignan grape variety can sometimes be disconcertingly rustic, we have chosen to vinify it gently to give it balance and length.
What we’re looking for is the grape variety’s tonicity and aromatic freshness. The vinification is very gentle: we’re looking for infusion rather than extraction.
The detail that appeals
This almost 50-year-old Carignan vine is a gift from nature: every year, whatever the dry or very dry climate, it gives us its fruit with generosity! It’s the most faithful parcel, the best adapted to the estate’s Mediterranean climate.
The perfect time
With a daube with olives for a powerful yet simple experience.
